"Nothing to lose and everything to gain," do you really think that's true? I don't mean that as a challenge, I mean it as an honest question. I'm new to the whole sugar bowl concept and world, and I have to say it's tremendously appealing. That being said, what's the general consensus about violence against women, date rape, STIs, and so on? Do you truly feel that most of the pitfalls of these relationships can be avoided by making smart, pragmatic choices? It seemed worth asking.
It’s more of an expression than anything. However, I do think if you know what you’re coming into the sugar bowl for and have realistic expectations and goals, you should be strong enough to not lose yourself and to gain a different view of the world and a variety of experiences that you would have otherwise missed out on. Violence and date rape against women happens in and out of the sugar bowl but I have experienced more and heard of more occurrences outside than in. STIs are a concern for anyone who is sexually active and obviously increases when you choose to have sex with multiple partners. I definitely think most of the pitfalls of both sugar baby relationships and nonsugar relationships can be avoided by making smart choices and I have to say that your whole question seems condescending and has a judgmental tone.

Staying o/night with my (new) SD in a fancy hotel in my town (he lives about an hour away). He wants to have breakfast out in the morning - so that means I can't sneak out in the middle of the night. I need my makeup, toiletries, change of clothes etc. How big of a bag, what kind, do you take for overnighters, weekends away with your SDs? I mean I need alot of stuff but I don't want to scare the poor guy away with all my luggage, literally.
If you’re staying over night with someone I’d say pack a weekender bag and only bring the necessities. I pack a medium sized makeup bag with the essentials: foundation, foundation brush, blush, blush brush, bronzer, bronzer brush, a small eye palette, and lipstick & gloss. I put my necessary toiletries in the travel bottles for flights and always have a few of them stashed under my bathroom counter for impromptu getaways. I try to bring accessories and outfits that can be mixed and matched with staples like a little black dress or a black skirt.

Just out of curiosity, how much do you make a month with your SD's?
Right now I have one SD who pays me between five to seven grand a month. I’ve had multiple SDs at once and have made much more in a month than I do now, but I’m content and have undertaken a new direction in regards to my real career that doesn’t allow me the time to juggle them. I think it’s a little tacky you ask how much I make though, lol. I’m also currently in the beginning stage of a non-sugar relationship and don’t want to fuck it up.

If you were to even give this the slightest bit of consideration you would have to go to his doctor with him for a round of STI and STD testing just as you should with any boyfriend you haven’t used protection with and with the conditions that he would be exclusive WITH YOU. This is a hard agreement because it means that you can’t have any nonsugar relationships and you’re the one giving up the most, despite him thinking he is because of the monetary side of things.
My advice is consider this with seriousness and if you chose to proceed, do so with caution and safety.

If you’re feeling down in the dumps go get a makeover at a beauty counter or buy yourself a cute outfit. Tell yourself that you are sexy, look in the mirror at your own body and believe it.
You can’t convince anyone else that you’re sexy unless you believe it yourself!

It depends on the guy. I normally bring it up on the first few encounters with them and if they seem interested and ask me further questions I’ll proceed to tell them more about it. I try to let them know stuff about my life because it gives them more of a well rounded girlfriend experience and I’d rather talk about my achievements in school than my family or other aspects of my personal life. Some guys like to be reminded of the age difference because it’s like “I’m the man for fucking/dating a coed.” Taboo things are more like your boyfriend (if you have one), excessive family drama and bitching about bills. Anything that dampers the mood a lot.
